The people on your site, and what stands behind them
A security contract is only as good as the person standing at the post. This page sets out how our workforce is recruited, screened, trained and kept current, and how that is recorded so a customer or auditor can see it.

Four pillars
Awareness, training, experience, competence
These four are often used interchangeably in this industry. We treat them as separate things, each evidenced differently.
Awareness
Knowing what to look for and what to do about it: the risks on the site, the reporting route, and the point at which something is escalated rather than handled alone.
Evidence: Induction Portal completion records
Training
Formal instruction against a syllabus, delivered through Induction Portal and supplemented by the licence-linked qualifications the role requires.
Evidence: Course records and certificates
Experience
Time actually spent doing the work, in environments comparable to yours. Recorded as deployment history rather than described in general terms.
Evidence: Assignment and deployment history
Competence
The judgement that someone can be left to carry out the role unsupervised on a particular site. Confirmed by a supervisor, not assumed from a certificate.
Evidence: Supervisory sign-off per assignment
Induction Portal member
Structured induction and awareness training for the whole workforce
Pro Security Group is a registered member and accredited firm of Induction Portal, the online induction and awareness training platform. Every member of the workforce has an account, so induction, awareness modules and refreshers are recorded against the individual rather than filed on a site.
The practical effect for a customer is that awareness is not something we assert. It is a record: who completed what, when, and what they scored.
Induction, awareness modules and refresher training sit against the individual rather than in a folder on a site.
Consistent across services
Security officers, cleaners and facilities staff go through the same induction framework, so standards do not vary by department.
Evidence on demand
Completion records can be produced for a customer, a procurement team or an auditor without reconstructing a paper trail.
Refreshers tracked
Where a module expires, the record shows it, so training is renewed rather than quietly lapsing.
Faster mobilisation
Core induction is already complete when a new contract starts, so the site-specific briefing is the only thing left to do.
Independently verifiable
Membership is listed publicly by Induction Portal and can be checked at inductionportal.co.uk/verify rather than taken on our word.
Awareness modules
What our people are trained on
Modules are assigned according to the role and the site. An officer on a construction site and a cleaner in a managed office do not receive the same set.
Health and safety induction
Core site safety, hazard reporting and safe working practice.
Fire safety and evacuation
Alarm response, evacuation routes and the marshal role where assigned.
Manual handling
Safe lifting and movement, relevant to cleaning and facilities roles.
Lone working
Working alone safely, check-in procedures and escalation.
Emergency procedures
What to do first, who to call, and how the incident is recorded.
Conflict avoidance
De-escalation and knowing when to withdraw and report.
Safeguarding awareness
Recognising and reporting concerns, relevant in residential and public-facing sites.
Data protection awareness
Handling personal data, CCTV footage and site information appropriately.
Equality and inclusion
Expected conduct towards colleagues, customers and members of the public.
Module availability depends on the courses assigned to a given contract. Where a customer requires site-specific or client-specific training, that is added to the assignment rather than assumed.

Keeping people current
Competence is a date, not a badge
A licence, a certificate and a training record all expire. The value of holding these centrally is that the expiry is visible before it becomes a problem on your site.
Licence expiry
SIA licences are tracked so renewal happens before the licence lapses, not after a customer notices.
Training refreshers
Modules with a renewal period are reassigned when they come due.
Screening renewal
Screening is repeated in line with the standard and any customer-specific requirement.
Site changes
Where a site changes materially, assignment instructions and briefings are reissued rather than left as they were.

A copy of the assignment instructions written for your site
